Do prospective students need to audition with an instrument?
Students looking to enter 7th through 12th grade must audition with a string instrument (violin, viola, cello or double bass). Students looking to enter 6th grade are strongly suggested to audition with an instrument.

Does MAS Orchestra accept incoming 10th and 11th grade students?
MAS Orchestra accepts students based on their musical aptitude and ability as well as available space in the orchestra program. If there are available spaces projected for 10th or 11th grade, auditioned students who meet eligibility and pass the audition requirements will be considered for acceptance.
What if my child has special needs?
MAS Orchestra accepts students based on their musical aptitude and ability. We are happy to make any accommodations or modifications to our audition process to include and welcome each and every one of our talented students. Please contact Ms. Gonzalez and the magnet lead teacher to make accommodation requests.
